| With the improvement of material living conditions and medical treatment,the life expectancy of the elderly is prolonged,and the impact of aging population on China’s social security system is more obvious.With the more open view of the elderly care,the endowment patterns also shows a diversified development trend,how to improve the quality of life of the elderly has become a common issue of social workers and even the whole society.The elderly in the hospital live in a semi-closed environment for a long time,and their interpersonal communication is limited.This study aims to improve the interpersonal relationship among institutionalized elderly adults through systematic and purposeful intervention with psychodrama therapy.This study is based on seven psychodrama activities of group social work in Wuhan W welfare home for five old participants,and the programme is designed according to Moreno’s role theory and interpersonal relationship theory.With the integrated using of Moreno’s socialmetry,participatory observation,interviews and other research methods,the author evaluated improvements in interpersonal relationships among the participants in terms of achievement of the group goals,,appropriate degrees of the programme and effect of the intervention.In addition,The author analyzed the mechanism from the perspective of theory,technology and phase.The results of this paper show that psychodrama therapy is an effective method to improve the interpersonal relationship of institutionalized elderly adults,and it can produce a positive change in psychology,intention and ability of the participants,but it has limited effect on the establishment of stable and deep interpersonal relationship.Based on this,the author analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the application of psychodrama therapy in improving the interpersonal relationship of the elderly in the welfare home,and discussed the advantages of the combination of psychodrama therapy with group social work.There are also shortcomings in this practical research,mainly including the limited duration of intervention effect,theinfluence of many uncontrollable factors on the results of the environment,and the lack of cognition and technology of the director.In the end,this paper also looks forward to the future research direction of psychodrama therapy in the field of social work and puts forward some practical suggestions. |
