With the increasing aging trend in China,the number of patients with cognitive impairment has increased year by year.However,due to the lack of professional services for cognitive impairment,the inadequate medical service system,and the impact of high rehabilitation costs and traditional concepts,most patients with cognitive impairment in China receive care at home.Long-term heavy care activities make family caregivers generally have varying degrees of care burden,which is not only detrimental to the physical and mental health of family caregivers but also to the rehabilitation of patients with cognitive disorders.This study used case work under the guidance of the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness to intervene in the burden of caregivers for cognitive impairment.According to the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness,individuals can acquire skills and abilities to cope with stress through acquired learning and training as well as use it as a means for individuals to solve problems,deal with stress and improve health in later life.In this study,the author adopts the method of "dividing the burden of care and minimizing it",starting from the needs of the client’s psychology,caring for the elderly,socializing and self-actualization,and utilize the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness,including the active self-statement,problem-solving model,delayed fulfillment of needs and supportive skills for talks,aiming to provide support and resources links for the client,simultaneously,the self-help of client together with the help of social workers,under the joint effort of internal and external forces,solve three specific targets burden situation,meet the needs of the client,and ultimately achieve the goal of alleviating the client ’s burden of care and improving the quality of life.Through the comparison of the measurement results of the two ZBI scales before and after the case intervention,and the observation and analysis of the interviews,the following conclusions are drawn: First,the use of the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness helps improve the client’s ability to solve problems independently.Secondly,It is an effective way to cope with the burden of caregivers in cognitive families combining the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness with individual social work.Finally,the Theory of Learned Resourcefulness has certain limitations in interventions to alleviate the burden of caregivers in cognitive impairment.
