| With the further popularization of higher education,the scale of graduate students has also achieved an increase.However,the increase in the number of postgraduate has not brought about a significant improvement in quality.From the engagement of postgraduate,it can be seen that the quality of master education still needs to be improved,and the study engagement of most graduate students is insufficient.Therefore,this research focuses on postgraduates with insufficient engagement in learning,and discusses why postgraduates have insufficient engagement in learning.This research uses qualitative research methods,using intensity sampling to select 15 masters of liberal arts students from the G School of H University as the research objects,setting up interview outlines around learning,scientific research and other aspects and conducting indepth research on 15 interviewees Interview.Based on the analysis of the original materials,this research takes educational authority as the core concept of interpretation.It divides educational authority into internal authority of education and external authority of education,and establishes this research around educational authority and student engagement.The conceptual framework explores the relationship between educational authority and student engagement.The study found that under the guidance of the external authority of education,the main purpose of students’ postgraduate study is to seek a satisfactory job.However,in the era of popularization of higher education,the value of diplomas continues to decline,and the screening function of diplomas continues to decline.Therefore,students must make more efforts to make it possible to find a satisfactory job.For the liberal arts masters,the indirect connection between liberal arts major and future career intensifies the uncertainty of the future.They view the current study with a utilitarian attitude,believing that the current study cannot bring direct benefits for future job hunting,As a result,their engagement in learning has decreased.When students under the guidance of education external authority organization own study and life,education internal authority cannot effectively guide for students,loose appraisal system allows students adopt a perfunctory attitude towards learning,and under the powerful power of external authority of education,there is little room for teacher authority and academic authority to play a role,the logic of market exchange has occupied the minds of the students,their negative view of the professional learning and scientific research training,they agree on the concept of the value of scientific research,but in action unintentionally in scientific research.Although the external authority of education is constantly weakening and the internal authority of education is not strong enough,the education authority formed during the development of education still has a certain impact on students.Under the guidance of education authority,students still have basic engagement and have reached the bottom line,some people even actively seek learning opportunities.It can know that student engagement is complex,on the one hand,the students have reached the bottom line and they agree on the value of scientific research,on the other hand,they almost do not sweat on the learning,because they are graduate students of “Double First-class” Universities,the school’s strong learning atmosphere and academic background have shaped their learning behaviors,but their professional learning cannot promise them a bright future.Finally,the research further explores and reflects on postgraduate education from the student engagement and higher education quality,the loss of independent value of education,and the goals and positioning of master education,with a view to providing reference for improving the quality of graduate education. |
