| Social responsibility is a relatively stable mental quality for individuals to actively take social responsibilities or help others. It is also the core quality of university students’ allround development and happy life.It is also an important guarantee for social harmony.College students’ sense of social responsibility reflects the strength of a country’s future competitiveness, which is directly related to the future development of the entire nation and the country. The family is the foundation for the cultivation of college students’ social responsibility. The development of college students’ social responsibility is firstly influenced by their parents, the influence of the family, the infection of family style, and the nurturing of family training. In the daily society, the way parents raise and educate their children shapes their children’s concepts and behaviors, and implicitly guides the formation and development of values in the process of individual growth, which has a direct impact on college students’ sense of social responsibility. At the same time, the traditional irrational parenting style in China will have an impact on the lack of social responsibility of college students, and it will also affect the self-cognition of the university, and then affect the development of social responsibility. In the context of Chinese culture, this study starts from the family side, and explores the influence mechanism of parenting style and self-efficacy on college students’ social responsibility. From the perspective of empirical research,a questionnaire analysis method was used to construct a model which is about college student’s social responsibility impact factors through correlation and regression analysis to explore the path of parenting styles and mechanism of self-efficacy.This research is divided into six parts:The first part: the progress of research on social responsibility of college students. The second part: related supporting theory. This part mainly introduces the theoretical basis of social responsibility, family influence and self-efficacy,and provides theoretical support for the construction of a mechanism model of the impact of parenting styles on college students’ social responsibility. An empirical study on the status of college students’ social responsibility. This part first compiles and revises the social responsibility self-efficacy and college students’ social responsibility, this part explores the influence of parenting styles on college students’ social responsibility and the mediating role of college students’ self-efficacy in the impact of parenting styles on college students’ social responsibility. The fifth part: Explore the reasons for the differences in social responsibility among college students. This part analyzes the research results of the third and fourth parts, and discusses the reasons for the differences in social responsibility among Chinese college students. It mainly analyzes and discusses from three aspects: social and cultural factors, family factors, and individual factors. The sixth part: Suggestions on Cultivating College Students’ Social Responsibility.Research shows:(1)The social responsibility of college students is generally at a moderately high level.(2)The differences in family education(except father control),self-efficacy,and social responsibility among college students have reached significant levels in terms of gender differences, whether they are student cadres, and family economic conditions. The differences in family education(except parental control),self-efficacy,and social responsibility among college students in terms of parental education and whether they are only children are significant.Higher-educated parents care more about their children, and their children have a higher sense of self-efficacy and social responsibility. An only child receives more parental care than a non-only child, and has higher self-efficacy and social responsibility.(3)Parental care can significantly positively predict the social responsibility of college students, and parental control can significantly negatively predict the social responsibility of college students.(4)The self-efficacy of college students can positively predict their social responsibility.(5)Parental care can significantly positively predict the self-efficacy of college students, while parental control can significantly negatively predict the self-efficacy of college students. It can be found from the research results that parenting styles can not only directly affect the formation of college students ’social responsibility, but also the development of college students’ social responsibility through the mediating effect of self-efficacy.Therefore,in order to improve the sense of social responsibility of college students,we need to consider three aspects of social culture, family and self, and combine education methods and strategies related to the discipline of ideological and political education, positive sociocultural orientation, good family guidance and improvement college students’ self-awareness to put forward suggestions with strong practicality and high operability. |
