News Production Of New Media For Government Affairs In Ethnic Minority Regions Of China ——A Case Study Of Kangba Converged Media Centre

This paper takes the editorial department of the new media for government affairs in ethnic minority regions-Kangba C onverged Media Center,as the research object.From the sociological perspective of news production,three sets of extern al relationships affecting the news produc-tion of the Kangba Converged Media Center are examined,including the Kangba Converged Media Center with the authorities,with the sou rces,and with new media content platforms.By examining the above three groups of relationships,influencing factors of news production in the editorial departments of new media for government affairs in ethnic minority regions have been derived,and the main characteristics of present news production in the editorial departments of governmental new media in minority regions have been summarized.Using participatory observation and in-depth interviews as the primary research methods,the author has been deeply involved in the news production of the Kangba Converged Media Center,and examined the three sets of relationships from an "internal"perspective.The study found that the competent authority is the most prominent influencing factor in the news production of the Kangba Converged Media,Center,and that the competent authority,as the founder,fundamentally determines the organizational structure and content positioning of the Kangba Converged Media Center and directly affects the interaction between the Kangba Converged Media Center and the sources and new media platforms;The Kangba Converged Media Center uses competent departments,Ganzi Daily presses and online information as the main sources of information based on considerations of the need to report on government affairs,driving the digital transformation of Ganzi Daily and improving the communication effectiveness,and news production efficiency;The new media content platform has had impact on the production process,staff scheduling and evaluation of performance in the Kangba Converged Media Center through establishing rules.The above three sets of relationships are constantly intertwined,and the Kangba Converged Media Center,as the core,needs to continually coordinate the three relationships to complete news production.The news production in the Kangba Converged Media Center also shows new features:the change in the practice of political power,the "embedding" of government departments in news production,reform of news production under the regulation of new media content platforms,a certain degree of "desensitization" of minority news production,standardization of linguistic texts in the ethnic minority language news production,and the transformation of the ethnic minority language news production from "translation" to highlighting ethnic and regional characteristics.
