Funeral service is a variety of services provided in the process of dealing with the dead body,mourning the dead and comforting the bereaved families.It is an important public service content related to social interests and people’s livelihood.The quality of funeral service is related to the dignity of the deceased and the spiritual comfort of the deceased.To improve the quality of funeral service is an important embodiment of realizing the "people-oriented" management concept and carrying forward the humanitarian spirit.The 14 th Five-Year Plan calls for accelerating the transformation of government functions,increasing the supply of public welfare and basic services,and making basic public services more equal.It can be seen that adjusting the functions and positioning of the government in the process of market-oriented transformation of funeral services and maintaining the public welfare and equalization of funeral services are the due meaning of realizing the modernization of national governance and building a harmonious socialist society.Since the release of the Guidance Opinions of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on Further Deepening Funeral Reform and Promoting Scientific Development of Funeral Undertaking,the reform of funeral and interment in China has continued to advance,and the internal potential of the funeral and interment market has become increasingly prominent,but the problems arising from it have also emerged one after another.Academics all agree that market-oriented development of funeral and funeral services is an inevitable trend,emphasizing accelerating the pace of funeral and funeral reform and breaking administrative monopoly.However,less in-depth analysis has been made on solving current problems in the field of funeral and funeral services and improving the quality of funeral and funeral services from the perspective of government supply according to the actual situation of the region.This paper selects Shijiazhuang area for empirical investigation,carries out research on the supply quality of funeral service,and sorts out the problems existing in the current development of funeral service,such as imperfect institutional supply system,weak facility supply construction,chaotic market management order,and low modern service level.Then,according to the deep analysis of the appearance,it is believed that the reason lies in the deviation of the government’s supply concept,the improper positioning of the supply role of the department,the slack supply of the market management system,the backward education mechanism and the concept of funeral.Finally,on the basis of relevant research results at home and abroad,the theory of public governance theory,new supplies theory as the theoretical tools,such as to change the supply of government funeral service concept,increase the financial supply to the funeral service,active play to the role of the funeral supplies main body,strengthen the management system of the funeral market supply,cultivating talents to promote the modern funeral,render contributing to promoting the modernization of funeral service governance.
