China’s urbanization has been going on for more than a decade, and urban space has been rapidly expanded, resulting in the formation of urban villages. The rapid change of urban-rural dual structure not only leads to the poor quality of natural space and disorder in urban villages, but also leads to the disorder of social space and cultural space in urban villages, and harbors the problem of spatial injustice caused by the high heterogeneity of urban village residents and the game of interests of related interests, which seriously affects the overall development of cities. It is both a theoretical and practical issue to solve the problem of urban village governance and break the urban-rural dichotomy.Although the current urban village governance has improved the security and environmental problems, how to optimize the existing stock space and improve the quality of urban village governance on the basis of spatial increment is still a key task of urbanization.Analyzing the current spatial disorder of urban village governance from the perspective of space governance is a response to the status quo of previous studies on urban village governance that cut off social space to talk about the transformation of natural space,or only talk about the governance of social space. Therefore, this paper takes the case study of X village in Nanning City from the perspective of space governance, and composes the current situation and effectiveness of the governance of this urban village through in-depth interviews with relevant subjects of urban village governance. On this basis, the spatial disorder dilemma of urban village governance is analyzed, including the lack of spatial quality due to the lack of resources and disorderly layout at the natural space level, the chaotic governance order due to the inefficient interaction among residents, social organizations, and government at the social space level, and the weak cultural atmosphere and weak social identity at the cultural space level. Then,we analyze the causes of spatial disorder in the governance of urban villages from three aspects: inertia of urban-rural dual structure, differentiation and game of interests of multiple subjects, and imbalance of resource allocation. Finally, suggestions are made to reconstruct the spatial order of urban village governance from three spatial levels, namely, humanization of resource allocation to reconstruct natural space, institutionalization of governance structure to reconstruct social space, and openness of cultural ecology to reconstruct cultural space. In conclusion, the governance of urban villages needs to be reconstructed through a multidimensional spatial order to promote urbanization and realize spatial justice in response to the reality of governance modernization.
