Research On Elderly Community Participation In The Process Of Community Building

As our society enters a transitional period,many problems that cannot be solved by the old management system have arisen.In response to these problems,General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed in the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that it is necessary to "strengthen the construction of the community governance system,push the focus of social governance down to the grassroots level,give play to the role of social organizations,and realize the benign interaction between government governance and social regulation,and residents ’autonomy " The community is the grassroots that has the closest connection with the residents.Once the community is built,the cornerstone of social governance will be consolidated.Under such a social background,the concept of community building has gradually entered the field of vision of researchers.It provides a new research and development perspective for community governance in our country,and enriches the model of grassroots community governance.The ultimate goal of community building is to encourage residents to participate in community affairs,to encourage residents to participate in community construction,to stimulate the sense of ownership of community residents,and to enhance the cohesion of the community.Therefore,the most important thing in community building is to stimulate community participation awareness of community residents and actively participate in community building.As a community worker with more than ten years of community work experience,the author has personally participated in the community construction of the L community of N community in Chaoyang District,Beijing,using observation methods,data collection methods,and case study methods,using participatory governance theory and the theory of social support is theoretically supported.It focuses on the community construction and community participation of the elderly in the process of community construction,discusses how to promote the community participation of the elderly in the process of community construction,and provides possible methods and paths.Through reviewing the process of community building so far,the author starts from the task goals and process goals of community building in L community,and analyzes that the purpose of community building is not to complete the task goals,but to achieved the process goal of community building through the completion process of the task goals.On the surface,community building has solved the problems that plagued the residents,such as the dirty and messy environment of the old community.In fact,in the process of problem-solving,a government-led,community,property,social organization,and resident diverse body participates in a community governance model that interacts on an equal footing and consultations on an equal footing.It is worth noting that most of the current community participation is the participation of the elderly in the community.However,the disadvantage of the status quo is that it is prone to lack of stamina for residents to participate and the dilemma of no successor.Therefore,the author believes that the community participation of the elderly should not only be aimed at the elderly,but should start from the youth,teenagers and even children,and continue to instill the concept and awareness of community participation in the residents,so that the community participation of the elderly can continue.
