The relationship between the US and India is the main bilateral relationship affecting the security and stability of South Asia and the indo-pacific region. In 2000,Clinton visited India and signed the joint statement on US-India relations: a vision for the21 st century, which opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.Over the years, the United States has worked to build and deepen the US-India global strategic partnership to shape India into a major regional and global power. After trump took office as President, faced with the change of regional power structure, the relative decline of hegemony and the worsening of the anti-terrorism situation in South Asia,he launched the "indo-pacific" strategy and chose to strengthen the US-India partnership, striving to maintain the global leadership of the United States at a rational cost. The India policy is a key part of the Trump administration’s "Indo-Pacific" strategy.By analyzing the strategy of "printed too" relevant content and relevant policy of the United States to India, and tries to research and analysis, help us to understand the government adjust the "print" trump strategic policy, the real intention of cognitive strategies in the "print" areas of the United States,to grasp the u.s.-india relations, policy direction and the development trend of China’s geopolitical environment change, have important practical significance. However, from the perspective of the US national interest and India, the Trump administration’s India policy is a dynamic adjustment process.Under the background of the "Indo-Pacific" strategy,THE US-India relationship has been further improved, and its policies towards India show different characteristics and certain limitations in different fields and international agendas.India is still a weak link in the indo-Pacific strategy, and the economic relations between the two sides also have cracks, which affect the construction of the mechanism of the four countries and the promotion of the Indo-Pacific strategy. How to handle the relationship with India and the concrete implementation of policies will test the governing ability of the Trump Administration. In general, the United States controls the dominant power and direction of bilateral relations between the United States and India.Although there are some problems with the Trump Administration’s India policy,low-level politics and cognitive differences will not have a fundamental impact on the deep strategic relationship. This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction of the policy background of the trump administration to India, mainly defining the "indo-pacific" strategy of the United States, the evolution process, formation reasons and policy contents of the "indo-pacific" strategy,as well as India’s position in the "indo-pacific" strategy. The second part analyzes the objectives of the us policy towards India, which is divided into three areas: politics, diplomacy, economy, defense and security. The third part analyzes the content and characteristics of the policy towards India. The fourth part mainly analyzes the difficulties encountered by the current trump administration in the implementation of its policy towards India, which is mainly divided into two aspects: the American factor and the Indian factor. |
