Study On The Adjustment Of Japan’s China Policy Under The Indo-pacific Strategy

In recent years,the "Indo Pacific Strategy" led by the United States has been continuously upgraded with the "Four Party Security Dialogue" mechanism between the United States,Japan,India,and Australia.The launch ceremony of the "Indo Pacific Prosperity Economic Framework"(IPEF)was held in Tokyo and is gradually moving towards "solidization".As a "small multilateralism",the continuous promotion and implementation of the "Indo Pacific Strategy" is an important strategy for the United States to prevent and balance China in the Indo Pacific region.As the initiator of the "Indo Pacific" strategic concept and a loyal ally of the United States,Japan has been actively assisting the United States in promoting the implementation of the "Indo Pacific" strategy,thereby achieving its goal of containing China’s peaceful rise and helping Japan achieve its national strategic interests.In order to achieve its own interests and in the context of the "Indo Pacific Strategy",Japan’s policy towards China has been continuously adjusted,with a clear intention to contain and confront China’s development.Economically,Japan regards China as a "competitor" and hedges its economic influence by initiating IPEF with the United States and India,shelving the promotion of the China Japan South Korea Free Trade Zone,and adopting the "China+1" strategy to reduce its economic dependence on China;In terms of military affairs,by upgrading the "Four Party Security Dialogue" mechanism between the United States,Japan,India,and Australia,establishing various security and defense cooperation mechanisms such as the "Blue Pacific Partnership",and joining the NATO Network Defense Center,the United States and neighboring countries in the Indo Pacific region will engage in military confrontation with China,increase military spending,and promote constitutional amendments to enhance their military strength;Politically,by constantly intervening in China’s Taiwan question,the attitude towards the Diaoyu Islands issue has become increasingly tough,and the "China threat theory" has been widely promoted,provoking ideological disputes,and the intention to confront China is obvious.Japan will continue to actively cooperate with the United States to promote the "Indo Pacific Strategy",strengthen its policy towards China,and further strengthen its awareness of preventing China.Although the overall relationship between the two countries will remain relatively stable due to economic reasons,the negative impact of containing China cannot be ignored.China should attach great importance to it,starting from economic,political,security,and cultural exchanges,actively participate in international affairs,demonstrate the responsibility of a major country,continue to deepen regional cooperation,strengthen national defense construction,promote China’s excellent traditional culture,and further establish a good image of a major country,In response to Japan’s policy adjustment towards China in the context of the Indo Pacific strategy.
