A Study On The Influence Of Quality Of Local Government On Subjective Well-Being

The hope of the people,the direction of governance.However,the "Eastlin Paradox" shows that economic growth does not necessarily lead to an increase in happiness.We need to find the key factors that affect the Subjective Well-Being of the masses.Based on the theory of Quality of Government(Qo G),this paper discusses the influence of local government quality on the Subjective Well-Being of the masses and its mechanism.Based on the existing research,this paper is based on the survey data of the masses’ perception of the masses conducted by major project groups in Chongqing in 2018,and uses factor analysis and OLS regression to analyze the impact of government quality on the masses’ Subjective Well-Being and its mechanism.The main research conclusions are as follows: First,compared with increasing the total social welfare and improving the quality of government,it is more helpful to enhance the Subjective Well-Being of the masses.Second,for the general group(non-poor households,etc.),improving the technical quality of government public goods supply and the democratic quality of social justice can help to improve Subjective Well-Being,and the impact of democratic quality on subjective well-being is greater than technological quality.But for the socially disadvantaged groups such as poor households and subsistence allowance households,the quality of government technology has a more significant impact on Subjective Well-Being,while the quality of democracy does not have a significant impact.Third,the participation of residents’ committees has a positive regulating effect on the relationship between government quality and Subjective Well-Being.Compared with the group who never participates in the activities of the residents ’committee,the quality of the government has a greater role in promoting Subjective Well-Being among the groups who often participate in the residents’ committee.Fourth,the quality of government can influence Subjective Well-Being by improving the self-evaluation level of the people in social comparisons and enhancing the trust of neighborhood committees.Among them,the mediating effect of social comparison plays a more prominent role in the relationship between the quality of government technology and Subjective Well-Being,and the mediating effect of government trust plays a more prominent role in the relationship between the quality of government democracy and Subjective Well-Being.This article empirically tests the relationship between the quality of local government and Subjective Well-Being.It mainly includes the following innovations:first,it confirms that different aspects of the quality of local government have different effects on different groups;second,it finds that the participation of neighborhood committees in government quality and subjectivity The moderating role of the relationship of Subjective Well-Being;Third,it is found that improving the social comparative psychology of the people is an important intermediary mechanism of government quality affecting Subjective Well-Being,and the intermediary effect of government trust and social comparison in the relationship between different types of government quality and Subjective Well-Being The amount varies.However,due to the limitations of the researcher’s personal ability,as well as the limitations of data samples,variables,and measurements,it is impossible to take into account all government quality evaluation indicators,so he failed to conduct a more comprehensive analysis of the relationship between government quality and Subjective Well-Being.
