Since the invention of photography,the family has been an important subject.For purely commemorative purposes,people began to use cameras to record family life,at this time the connotation of private family photography is not clear.It was not until the advent of photographers such as Nobuyoshi Araki,Masahisa Fukase,and Nan Goldin that "private photography" was clearly defined.The photographic practices of Joan Spence,Billingham,Saltan,and others greatly expanded the creative language of "private photography".The intimate emotions in photography are enriched in these photographic practices.We can see that the loyalty of emotional expression in "private photography" depends on the photographer.At this time,straightforward and implicit photography’s recording and expression are mutually bridged.Therefore,there may be the interweaving of truth and fiction in the construction of individual history,and private emotion is its inducement.Photographers are eager to achieve reconciliation with life and family healing through the creation of private photography.This paper will explore the ways,characteristics,and significance of private emotional expression in family private photography through case analysis,historical sorting,and practical testing.Through analysis,it can be found that the depth and breadth of private emotional expression are affected by the content,editing,and display of photographic pictures.Although such expression shows a trend of emotional individuation,it is highly consistent and unified behind the individuation.
