With the development and evolution of the financial industry and the increasing demand for diversified finance,the investment portfolio gradually stepped onto the historical stage.What’s more,with increasing influence of international investment institutions on financial market and real economy,their development and investment experience are worth learning from.Although China has made some progress in the construction and management of investment portfolio,there are still many shortcomings.Therefore,it is necessary to introduce other country’s experience in this field to China.It will not only deepen the understanding of the portfolio,but also provide translation experience for English translators in this field.The text used in this translation practice report is selected from Chapter 5 of Asset Allocation and Private Markets: A Guide to Investing with Private Equity Private Debt,and Private Real Assets.The book deeply discusses the construction and management of portfolio.The translator takes it as the source text for this translation practice,guided by Nida’s functional equivalence theory and analyzes the difficulties encountered in the process of translation practice.The translation practice report takes portfolio texts as the research object and analyzes the strategies and methods of English-Chinese translation of such texts by applying Nida’s functional equivalence theory.This translation practice report is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the research background,purpose and significance of this translation practice.The second part introduces the author’s work in the process of translation,which is divided into three parts: preparation before translation,translation in translation and post-translation proofreading.In the third part,guided by Nida’s functional equivalence theory,the translator discusses the translation of abbreviations,literal translation of sentences,translation of part of speech,translation of attributive clauses,in financial texts from the aspects of vocabulary,syntax and text.The fourth part summarizes the harvest of the translator’s translation practice.The translator also found her own shortcomings in translation practice and made clear the direction of future efforts. |
