In eighteenth Century,with the opening of the sea route and the continuous strengthening of the world’s ties,China and the West began to interact with each other under the influence of various factors.During this period,a large number of Chinese goods entered Europe,which aroused European interest in China and triggered a wave of Chinese upsurge.Among the European countries,France is the most representative.The Chinese style art born in Louis XIV period has had a certain impact on European art,such as Rococo art.In this case,a number of artists who added Chinese elements to their works of art have emerged.Judging from the images of China in the works of French Rococo artists,we can find that China exerted profound influence on France in many aspects,which ledthe emergence of China fever in the 18 th century and the birth of the Chinese style.Taking the French Rococo painter Fran?ois Boucher as an example,this article explores the Sinomania born in France in the 18 th century and its influence.This paper includes four chapters.First of all,as a representative painter of French Rococo art,Boucher has a certain complex with China and created many paintings with Chinese elements.In addition to Boucher,there are also painters such as Watteau,and many paintings about China were born.Based on these works,this article analyzes the influence of Chinese culture on French Rococo art.Secondly,these works are related to the Sinomania in France in the 18 th century,revealing the reasons for the formation of the Chinese craze in France;finally,further thinking about the Chinese craze,exploring the reasons for the unique Chinese image in Rococo art,as well as thinking on the cultural exchange between China and the West.
