Causes And Solutions Of Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Lag Production From The Perspective Of Effort Model ——A Case Study Of From Qin To Han

After the founding of Qin empire,China went to unification and Han empire continued to consolidate its rein.There are many well-known persons and stories in this period.As a splendid period in history,economy and politics developed quickly but the country experienced a lot in order to realize unification.Nowadays,countries in the world have closer links and different cultures developed constantly through exchanges,so the spread of history and culture can help people understand clearly historical events.The historical documentary From Qin to Han gives an account of the succession of dynasties and deeds of emperors in Qin and Han dynasties to people from the historical perspective,which shows us the trend towards unity.It has a significant role in carrying forward and promoting history and culture.Simultaneous interpretation is a difficult and intense translation activity,which requires interpreters to interpret the content almost at the speed of the source language.During the interpreting process,interpreters nearly always approached their cognitive limits and most of their mistakes were from cognitive saturation,that is,the multitask processing is beyond their ability.Thus,Gile proposed effort model.And he believed that in the process of simultaneous interpreting,interpreters need to have listening analysis,short memory,speech production and coordination.The model has guiding effect on simultaneous interpreting.The thesis takes the documentary From Qin to Han as the example,giving a research on the cause for lag production in the process of simultaneous interpreting by preparing resources and terminologies,analyzing the record of interpreting practice and summarizing after simultaneous interpreting practice,and the interpreter proposes relevant solutions on concrete cases,including merging similar information,omitting difficult information,clarifying the meaning of idioms,predicting topics properly defining subjects and so on.Currently the study about lag production in interpreting was few,so the thesis may be useful for a further study of lag production in simultaneous interpreting,and the interpreter hopes it can enrich the study of effort model to make people know how to deal with lag production in simultaneous interpreting.
