Research On The Coupling Development Of Cultural Industry Agglomeration And Economic Growth In The Yangtze River Delta

With the continuous transformation and upgrading of China’s economic development,the cultural industry has become a pillar industry and developed into a powerful driving force of China’s economic growth gradually.Under the guidance of the policy of regional economic integration in the Yangtze River Delta,promoting the development of cultural industry has become a meaningful way to realize the integrated development,and its agglomerate characteristics are increasingly prominent.Then,how does cultural industry agglomeration affect economic development,and how does economic development affect cultural industry agglomeration? Most of existing studies have discussed and analyzed the above problems.However,the coupling development and evolution process of cultural industry agglomeration and regional economic growth has not been analyzed from provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta region.Therefore,based on the theory of industrial agglomeration,the purpose of this paper is to study the coupling development relationship between cultural industry agglomeration and economic growth in the Chinese Yangtze River Delta region.It has vital significance for guiding the development of cultural industry agglomeration in these areas.First,the paper integrally explores the interaction mechanism between cultural industry agglomeration and economic growth.After that,it uses the Herfindahl index and locational entropy index to measure the agglomeration level of cultural industry and its subsectors in these areas.Further,based on the spatial correlation analysis,from the perspective of system coupling coordination,build "regional cultural industry agglomeration-economic growth" system of the coupling evaluation model,using the panel data of the Yangtze River Delta from 2012-2019,to identify characteristics of time and space of the cultural industry coupling agglomeration and economic growth development.Finally,the consequence can be summarized by the empirical analysis,the relevant,targeted policy and recommendations also are raised.The results show that,（1）there are distinct differences in the agglomerate level of cultural industry and its sub-industries in different provinces（cities）within the region.Shanghai ranks first in the cultural industry agglomeration,followed by Jiangsu province,and Anhui province ranks last,indicating that the development competitiveness of cultural industry clusters is relatively weak.（2）The provinces and cities represented by Shanghai,Zhejiang and Jiangsu are located in the first quadrant（high concentration-high concentration）,and the spatial spillover effect of cultural industry agglomeration is noticeable.Anhui province is located in the second quadrant（low agglomeration-high agglomeration）,which is affected by the radiation effect of cultural industry agglomeration in high agglomeration areas.（3）Coupling development research results show a coupling and coordination relationship between cultural industry agglomeration and economic development in these areas.From the view of time sequence,the coupling coordination degree between cultural industry agglomeration and economic development in the Yangtze River Delta region showed an overall upward trend from 2012 to 2019,which successively went through the following development stages: moderate maladjustment,prior coordination,intermediate coordination,good coordination,and high-quality coordination.The coordination of the two systems was constantly strengthened and finally reached a peaceful resonance state.From the perspective of space,the coupling coordination degree between cultural industry agglomeration and economic growth system of different provinces（cities）shows an overall upward trend.From the cultural industry driving economic development in the early stage to the cultural industry agglomeration driven by economic development,it has experienced a development process from maladjustment to high-quality coordination.Additionally,according to the empirical results,some differences exist between the level of cultural industry agglomeration and the level of economic development in these areas.In2019,cultural industry agglomeration and economic development in Anhui province were distinctly lower than in Shanghai,Jiangsu province and Zhejiang Province.Therefore,the layout and development of cultural industry clusters in the Yangtze River Delta region need to be optimized and adjusted.By integrating cultural industry resources and making use of spatial spillover effect,the cultural industry agglomeration and economic development level are improved to realize the coordinated development of cultural industry and sustainable economy development in the Yangtze River Delta region.
