The Collaborative Development Of Cultural Industry And Its Impact On Economic Growth

Globally,the cultural industry generated by the integration of culture and economy,is constantly deepening the integration and reconstruction of the intra-industry value chain and the inner-industry chain with its unique features,effectively promoting economic growth by optimizing the regional industrial structure,associating to drive and gathering to strengthen.Collaborative development of cultural industries has been a vital driving force of economic growth in urban agglomerations,including New York in USA,London in UK,Tokyo in Japan,and Yangtze River Delta,Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region in China where measures have been taken to strengthen regional cultural industries.Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,a major decision and deployment made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party who considered the changes in the new era and tried hard to form a complementary and high-quality development of regional economy,guided by giving full play to advantages,highlighting characteristics and collaborative development,shoulders the responsibilities of building an important growth pole and a new driving force for high-quality development across the country.However,compared with Yangtze River Delta,Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region,Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle still has a gap in economic aggregates,so it’s urgent for it to explore and cultivate a new driving force to promote regional economic growth.Based on that,the current situation of collaborative development of cultural industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle that owns cultural resources from the two cities,and its influence on the regional economic growth,including “what is the coupling coordination relationship between the cultural industry and regional economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle?”,“how much does the collaborative development of cultural industries contribute to the regional economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle?”and“how to further optimize the collaborative development of cultural industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle so as to release more economic growth effects”,are major theoretical and practical problems worthy of further study by academic and practical circles.First,this paper reviews the existing literature and verifies the innovation of this research.After defining the core concepts of cultural industry,collaborative development,collaborative development of cultural industry and economic growth,based on relevant theories,including Political Economics,Industrial Economics and Regional Economics,this paper makes a theoretical analysis on how collaborative development of regional cultural industry influences economic growth from several aspects including the driving force system,influencing factors and mechanisms.Second,based on the above theoretical analysis methods,this paper divides the collaborative process in Chengdu and Chongqing in recent years into four stages.The overall situation of the current collaborative development of cultural industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle is summarized and analyzed.Then the hierarchical collaborative development of Chengdu urban agglomeration,Chongqing urban agglomeration,Southern Sichuan urban agglomeration and the six core categories of cultural industry is studied from two dimensions of region and industry by using analytic hierarchy process,and the main constraints of current collaborative development of cultural industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle are sorted out.Third,the index system of collaborative development level of regional cultural industry is constructed,and is introduced into the composite system coordination degree model to respectively measure the cultural industry coordination degree of the whole Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality,Chengdu urban agglomeration and Chongqing urban agglomeration,and Southern urban agglomeration on three levels.Fourth,by using the improved entropy method and coupling coordination model and relying on the two index systems of cultural industry and economic growth system,the coupling coordination between cultural industry and regional economy in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle is measured and analyzed from perspective of time and space,and is compared with three major urban agglomerations.Finally,based on the extended C-D linear regression model,this paper identifies the contribution of collaborative development of cultural industries to regional economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,and makes a comparative analysis with the national average level.On the basis of the above,relevant policy suggestions are put forward to solve problems that restrict the promotion of collaborative development level of cultural industries and the release of economic growth effects in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.Specifically,this paper is divided into seven chapters from three parts: basic analysis,key analysis and summary analysis.The basic analysis is the introduction.Chapter 1 is the introduction,which mainly defines the core concepts based on the existing literature and clarifies the research idea,research contents,research methods,main findings and limitations of this paper after introducing the research background and research significance.The key analysis part is from Chapter 2 to Chapter 6 in a form of deduction.The general part of the key analysis is the theoretical base and theoretical analysis in Chapter 2.Chapter 2 puts forward the four driving forces of cultural industry collaboration: collaboration benefits,cost reduction,value increase and economies of scale,and four factors that affect the level of cultural industry collaboration: the social cultural demand,cultural resources endowment,investment in cultural industries and the level of cultural output.Then Chapter 2summarizes three mechanisms: agglomeration strengthening,collaborative driving and structural optimization,with which cultural industry collaboration can have an impact on the regional economic growth,and constructs the combined framework of these three mechanisms,providing theoretical methods for subsequent analysis.The specific parts of key analysis part are from Chapter 3 to Chapter 6.Chapter 3 analyzes the current situation of cultural industry collaboration in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.In this Chapter,at first,the recent collaborative development in Chengdu and Chongqing is divided into 4 stages and the overall situation of cultural industry collaboration in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle is sorted out from two aspects: policy supply and development effect.And then Chapter 3 uses analytic hierarchy process to evaluate the current hierarchical development situation of Chengdu metropolitan circle,Chongqing metropolitan circle,Southern Sichuan metropolitan circle and six core categories of cultural industry from two dimensions of regional level and industry level,and sort out the main problems existing in cultural industry collaboration development.Chapter 4,based on the index system that is constructed to measure the level of collaborative development of regional cultural industries and the coordination degree model of composite system,respectively calculates the coordination degree of cultural industry in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality,Chengdu metropolis area and Chongqing metropolis area,and Southern Sichuan metropolis area from three dimensions.Chapter 5 uses the constructed two index systems of regional cultural industry and economic growth,with the help of the improved entropy method and the coupling coordination degree model,to analyze the coupling coordination relationship between the cultural industry and the regional economy in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle from the perspective of time and space,and compares the coupling coordination degree with the three major urban agglomeration.Chapter 6uses the extended C-D linear regression model to identify and compare the contribution of cultural industries to economic growth in the whole country and in Chengdu-Chongqing region.The summary analysis is the Chapter 7,including research conclusions and policy suggestions.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: First,based on the normative analysis of the collaborative development of regional cultural industry and its impact on economic growth,four driving forces,including collaborative benefits,cost reduction,value increase and economies of scale,can promote the collaboration of regional cultural industries;and four factors,including the social cultural demand,cultural resources endowment,investment in cultural industries and the level of cultural output,have an impact on the collaborative development of regional cultural industries.The regional cultural industry collaboration promotes the regional economic growth by three mechanisms: agglomeration strengthening,collaborative driving and structural optimization.Second,from the perspective of collaborative development level of cultural industries,the overall cultural industry collaboration in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle has been greatly improved from 2012 to 2019,but it was still in the general collaborative stage and had not entered the high collaborative stage until 2019.The collaborative degree of cultural industry systems of Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality showed an upward trend during the survey period and entered the general collaborative stage,but there are regional differences among Chengdu metropolis area,Chongqing metropolis area,and Southern Sichuan metropolis area in collaborative level of cultural industries.Third,from the perspective of coupling coordination relationship of cultural industry and regional economic growth,the development level of cultural industry in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle has been improved to a certain extent in the nearly ten years from 2011 to 2019,but there are regional differences in the coupling coordination between cultural industry and regional economy in cities(districts)of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.Compared with the other three urban agglomerations in China,the initial average coupling degree and average coupling coordination degree of cultural industry and economic system in Chengdu-Chongqing region are lower,but now they’re higher,and the coupling status of cultural industry and economic system in Chengdu-Chongqing region is relatively balanced.Fourth,based on the contribution of cultural industry collaboration on regional economic growth,and compared with the national average level,cultural industry collaboration in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle contributes more significantly to regional economic growth.That is to say,promoting the collaborative development of cultural industries will become a new powerful driving force for the economic growth of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.After careful consideration of the contents of this study,the author believes that there may be three innovations as follows: First,this paper integrates cultural industry collaboration into the perspective of economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.Unlike some literature that simply studies other kinds of industrial collaboration in Chengdu-Chongqing region or studies cultural industry collaboration in other regions and even the whole country,this paper,considering the collaborative development trend of cultural industries and the background in which the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle becomes a national strategy,combines the cultural industry collaboration with economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,studies the coupling interactive relationship between cultural industries and regional economic growth in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,and further identifies the contribution of collaborative development of cultural industries to regional economic growth.The conclusions are as follows: compared with the three urban agglomerations,the coupling interaction between cultural industry and regional economic growth is better in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,but the degree of coupling coordination among cities(districts)in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle is much lower than the high-quality coordination stage and there are large spatial differences;the collaborative development of cultural industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle contributes more significantly to regional economic growth than the national average level,which enrich the perspective of the study of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.Second,based on Political Economics,Regional Economics and Industrial Economics,this paper makes theoretical analysis on the general collaborative development of cultural industry and its impact on economic growth from the perspective of “driving force system,influencing factors and mechanisms ”,and puts forward four driving forces of collaborative development of regional cultural industries,four factors that affect the collaborative development level of cultural industry,and three mechanisms that enable the collaborative development of cultural industry influence the regional economic growth,enriching the theoretical analysis contents of collaborative development of regional cultural industries and its impact on economic growth.Third,this paper constructs a index system to measure the collaborative development level of regional cultural industries and introduces it into the coordination degree model of composite system,and respectively measures the current overall level of collaborative development of cultural industry in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle,and in different provinces and different urban agglomerations within it.The conclusions can be drawn as follows:under the overall trend of general collaboration,there are great differences in the collaborative development level of cultural industries in different urban agglomerations in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.This research is helpful to find out the areas that need to be developed in priority and make up their disadvantages in the future.
