The Study On The Relationship Between Weijin Metaphysics And Drinking Poetries In The Wei,Jin,Northern And Southern Dynasties

With the collapse of the unification of the Han Dynasty and the decline of Confucianism,the philosophical trend of metaphysics emerged in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.Metaphysics was the mainstream of thought in this period,scholars were generally influenced by metaphysics,and metaphysics also had a great impact on all aspects of society in this period.During the development of metaphysics,scholars are both creators and recipients of metaphysical theories,and more importantly,practitioners of metaphysical theories.From the beginning of the Zhengshi period,the metaphysical theory with the theme of “Gui Wu” was established with Wang Bi as its leader,and then “independence theory” was put forward by Guo Xiang in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty.Throughout the Wei and Jin Dynasties,scholars were infiltrated under the mysterious atmosphere,which made the thought,character,creation and even the lifestyle of the scholars all bear the imprint of metaphysics.Under the background of metaphysical thought,the poet’s drinking poetry creation is also influenced by it.Since ancient times,wine and poetry have been inseparable.During the Wei and Jin Dynasties,wine became the elixir used by scholars to seek peace of mind and get rid of pain.The whole society was permeated with an atmosphere of indulging in alcohol.The scholars used alcohol to avoid misfortune,achieve the same state with the Tao,and pursued the poetic world guided by meditation in the alcohol,so as to care nothing for the mundane and enjoy leisure.In the process of metaphysics trend of thought,scholars also projected metaphysics into the process of their own drinking poetry creation,so metaphysics subtly infiltrated in drinking poetry.During this period,natural images were added to drinking poetry.During the preparation period of Jianan metaphysical theory,landscapes naturally became the independent aesthetic objects written by Jianan poets.With the establishment and development of metaphysics theory,the distance between landscape and poets is also getting closer and closer in drinking poetry,and nature has become a medium for poets to entrust mysteries,observe mystical meanings,and imagine the universe from afar.Poets use the limitation of nature to reach the infinity of the universe while drinking,so as to transcend the limitation of secular world,achieve the unity of all things and reach the state of Tao.Nature has also become the projection of the poets’ bearings and spirits,in order to convey the metaphysical life experience that the poets have internalized in their hearts.In terms of language style,the poet’s profound thoughts and meanings were added into the drinking poems,and given the influence of metaphysical themes on "the debate between language and meanings" at that time,the style of poetry at that time was mostly deep,profound,and tranquil.Pure conversation was an important activity for scholars to talk about the metaphysics and Taoism,and this way of oral literature creation also affected the style of drinking poetry,and the poems were mostly simple,clear,and clean.In terms of lyrical characteristics and methods,the emotions expressed by the poets in drinking poems during this period were not only the sorrows and joys of the previous generation,but also a kind of mysterious emotion,namely,those who pursued the comfortable,unfettered,and reclusive feelingsand expressed the emotions of being in harmony with things and the Tao.While drinking the poets were able to transcend the limitation of reality and reach the infinity of the universe.As a result,the poets sublimated their own life experiences and unified the reality and the non-existence,which were the poets’ emotional pursuits of wandering the heart of tour Taixuan with the help of drinking poetry.
