| "Flatness",as the basic feature of painting,has been praised and explored by many m odern and contemporary artists and art theorists in the past hundred years after getting rid of the historical mission of "technical" functions such as recording and photographing.Pa inting has finally returned to its true aesthetic.The subject of this dissertation,the theoreti cal exploration of the three-year postgraduate period,as well as the inspiration for my per sonal oil painting creation,are deeply inspired by David Hockney’s creative ideas a nd monumental works.As one of the most outstanding graphic form painting masters in t his century,Hockney is loyal to the painting concept of life,especially his unique landsca pe series works,and his unique handling of colors and hard-edged forms all show his won derful and smooth handling of planes.He is an epoch-making master of contemporary pai nting in the exploration of the concept of painting planes.Therefore,this article will analy ze David Hockney’s landscape paintings as the main research object.At the same ti me,I will explain the inspiration I have received on the road of creation.I search for my o wn artistic expression,and form my own art form in the process of exploration,and also r eport my understanding of contemporary painting.This paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter explains the flatness of pain ting,briefly introduces the concept of flatness of painting,and expounds from the shape a nd color.The second chapter,firstly expounds Hockney’s painting style and his uni que viewing angle;secondly,taking Hockney’s landscape works as an example,fro m three aspects: spatial structure and composition,color and visual effect,multi-media an d emotional expression Analysis of flat painting language.The third chapter mainly explo res the development trend of painting flatness in the contemporary context from three asp ects: the processing method of hard edge,the processing method of geometric abstract ele ments,and the integration of flat painting and technology.The fourth chapter,taking my o wn creation as an example,explains from four aspects: inspiration of creative idea,painti ng language and technique,creative characteristics and emotional expression,and creativ e description and experience. |
