| Flame retardants are chemical additives that can effectively delay or retard the combustion of materials and inhibit the rapid spread of flames.The effective use of flame retardants plays an extremely important role in ensuring the safety of human life and reducing the loss of resources and wealth.Therefore,the translation practice related to flame retardants is extremely significant.This report is written based on the translation practice of Reactive and Additive Phosphorus-based Flame Retardants of Reduced Environmental Impact,a research paper completed by four scholars of Budapest University of Technology and Economics.During the practice,the author takes the Functional Equivalence Theory as the guiding theory of translation.This report is divided into five parts: preface,translation task,translation process,translation case analysis,summary and prospect.The fourth part is the focus of the whole report,which analyzes and discusses methods and skills introduced in the translation practice from the three levels of vocabulary,syntax and discourse.Through the translation practice,the author’s scientific literacy in the field related to flame retardants,the understanding and application of translation theory,and the professional attitude and literacy of translation have been further improved,which has laid a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the author’s future study and translation practice,and also provided a certain reference for the literature translation related to flame retardants. |
