Most Thai students with intermediate and advanced Chinese proficiency have more grammatical cohesion errors in paragraphs and articles,which restricts their Chinese writing levels to a certain extent.Based on the theory of discourse cohesion,using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.This paper analyzes the grammatical cohesion errors in the composition of Thai international students,discussing the reasons for the errors,and putting forward corresponding teaching strategies.The article mainly consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the reason for choosing the topic,the research on discourse cohesion theory and the research on discourse cohesion bias,and explains the research content and research methods.The second part is an overview of the grammatical cohesion errors of Thai international students,which examines the use of grammatical cohesion means by students from three perspectives: lack,redundancy,and misuse.The results of the investigation found that among the five grammatical cohesion errors of Thai international students,the reference error was particularly prominent,accounting for65.91% of the total error,followed by the body error(15.68%),omission error(7.27%),Substitution bias(6.14%),the lowest bias is the time word bias,which is4.77%.The third part is the reasons for the grammatical cohesion errors of Thai international students.It is analyzed from the three factors of language,teaching and students.The language factors include the complexity of Chinese grammatical cohesion and the influence of mother tongue and its culture.The teaching factors are that the "discourse view" of the textbook is not prominent enough,the teacher’s discourse cohesion teaching awareness is weak,and the writing class teaching content and class hours are limited.Student factors include weak awareness of discourse cohesion and use of incorrect learning strategies.The fourth part is the teaching countermeasures for the grammatical cohesion errors of Thai international students.This part proposes corresponding countermeasures from three aspects of language,teaching and students,aiming at the causes of students’ grammatical cohesion errors,in order to improve the students’ discourse expression ability.The fifth part is the conclusion,summarizing the whole paper,stating the conclusion and shortcomings of the thesis.
