A Study On The Linguistic Characteristics Of Depression Based On Weibo Data

In this paper,100 weibo users with depression experience are selected as the research objects.It not only extracts the linguistic features of depressed groups,but also focuses on the illness experience of depressed individuals.Data statistics and comparative analysis are the main research methods."Wenxin" is used as a text analysis tool.The paper takes linguistics as the main method of investigation.Six dimensions of linguistic features are investigated:weibo nicknames,common words,personal pronouns,emotional expression,physical symptoms and time perception.Details are as follows:（1）Weibo nicknames are mainly composed of Chinese characters plus symbols,numbers or letters.Depressed people tend to choose nicknames with a certain length and a certain concealment.In terms of semantic content,they tend to use negative words and metaphorical rhetoric.（2）In terms of high-frequency keywords,the first person singular pronouns,exact words,negative words,filler words,function words account for a large proportion.（3）Depressed people are more inclined to use singular personal pronouns.Besides,the way that they use personal pronouns is different from ordinary users.（4）Depressed people have a wealth of emotional expression.Both negative emotion words such as "anxiety" and "sadness" and positive emotion words such as "love" and "hope" are frequently used.（5）Somatic symptoms,topics of death and sleep disorders frequently appear in the weibo of depressed people.（6）In terms of time perception,they pay more attention to the past and present and less attention to the future.
