| Starting from the relationship between individual emotional state and facial expression matching style and temporal perception, this study explores the combined effects of individual emotional state and facial expression matching style on temporal perception. The study consisted of two experiments:In Experiment 1,we used the temporal judgment task paradigm to investigate the influence of individual’s emotional state on temporal perception of emotional and non-emotional facial expressions. The experimental design was a mixed experimental design of 3(individual emotional state: anger,pleasure,peace)×2(facial expression matching mode: emotion-non-emotion,non-emotion-emotion)×3(time interval:17ms,34 ms,100ms).The results showed that:(1)the main effect of individual emotional state was significant. The accuracy of time sequence judgment in the state of anger and pleasure was significantly higher than that in the state of peace.(2)The main effect of facial expression matching was significant. In the three emotional states, the accuracy of face expression matching with emotion-non-emotion was significantly higher than that with emotion-non-emotion matching.(3)The main effect of time interval was significant. The accuracy of the time series judgment is significantly higher when the time interval is 100 ms than when the time interval is34 ms,and the accuracy of the time series judgment is significantly higher when the time interval is 34 ms than when the time interval is 17 ms.(4)There is interaction between individual emotional state and time interval. When time interval of 17 ms,peace condition of timing accuracy is significantly higher than anger and a pleasant emotional state under the timing judgment accuracy of subjects,in the time interval is34 ms and 100 ms,the pleasant emotions of the anger and timing of subjects under the judgment accuracy is significantly higher than calm emotional state of the timing judgment accuracy of subjects.Experiment 2 further explored the influence of individual emotional state on the perception of the temporal sequence of positive and negative facial expressions. The experiment adopts the temporal judgment task paradigm. The experimental design was a mixed experimental design of 3(individual emotional state: anger,pleasure,peace)×2(facial expression matching mode: positive-negative,negative-positive)×3(time interval: 17 ms,34ms,100ms).The results showed that:(1)the main effect of individual emotional state was significant. The accuracy of time sequence judgment in the state of anger and pleasure was significantly higher than that in the state of calm emotion.(2)The main effect of time interval was significant. The accuracy of time series judgment when the time interval is 100 ms is significantly higher than that when the time interval is 34 ms and 17 ms.(3)The interaction between individual emotional state and facial expression matching mode was significant. The correct judgment rate of facial expression matching mode with positive-negative timing sequence was significantly higher than the correct judgment rate of facial expression matching mode with negative-positive timing sequence when the subjects were in pleasant and calm emotional state. In the state of anger, the correct judgment rate of face expression matching mode was significantly higher than that of face expression matching mode. The conclusions are as follows:(1)Emotional facial expressions have the advantage of stable priority recognition. When emotional faces and non-emotional faces appeared on the screen one after another, the subjects were more inclined to judge that emotional faces appeared first.(2)An individual’s emotional state can promote the recognition of the same type of emotional face expressions. The subjects in the state of anger thought that the negative emotional face expression pictures appeared earlier. The subjects in the euphoria state thought that the positive emotional faces appeared earlier.(3)In the calm emotional state, pleasant faces had the advantage of priority recognition. The subjects in the calm emotional state were more inclined to judge that the positive face appeared first when the positive face and the negative face appeared on the screen. |
