This translation report is based on the E-C translation practice of Translation and Creativity, which was written by Kirsten Malmkj?r and published by Routledge in 2020.The book proposes a complete rethinking of the concepts of creativity as applied to translation. This report chooses chapter three as the translation source text.Based on the text typology of Katharina Reiss, this text can be classified as informative text.In the process of translation, the content of the original text is relatively complex, with a total number of 220 coordinate structures. So how to present their coherent characteristics in the target text is a difficult point for translators in the translation process. This report adopts Catford’s translation shifts theory to guide the translation techniques of coordinate structures in the selected text. The present report classifies coordinate structures into lexical, phrasal and clausal coordination.Five translation techniques are adopted in the translation, including addition, conversion, omission, division, and combination to increase the readability and coherence of the target text based on the translation shifts theory. This report aims to make a further exploration of coordinate structures in the informative text and offer some references for future translation practice.
