This is a report on the translation of Rating Quality and Borrowing Choice by Dominique C.Badoer,Cem Demiroglu,and Christopher M.James.This paper focuses on how rating quality affects bond yields and issuers’ choice between private and independent debt.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts:introduction of the project,analysis of the source text,Eco-translatology and case studies on translation and conclusion.Accessibility,creativity,theory and science are the four characteristics of academic papers.This text is featured with rigorous and standardized academic language,and lots of critical language to support arguments.In view of vocabulary,technical terms and financial abbreviations are frequently used in financial papers.From the perspective of sentence,some common features shared by financial paper are relatively long texts,large amounts of information,high frequency of statistic data,frequent use of comparative sentences.The translation methods include: transliteration,literal and free translation,and the translation skills include addition,omission,conversion and reversion.It is hoped that with translators being the center,translators can lead the adaptation and selection from the linguistic,communicative,cultural dimension so as to obtain the target language news with the highest degree of integration,adaptability and accuracy and to meet the needs of international communication. |
