| China’s economic development has affected the status of Chinese in the world’s languages.Since China has promoted the "The Belt and Road" initiative,it has greatly promoted the economic development of China’s neighboring countries.At present,more and more people are learning Chinese in Indonesia.The purpose of many students learning Chinese is to find better jobs related to the use of Chinese language.As a result,students are becoming more and more motivated to learn Chinese.Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in2020,many schools have changed traditional classrooms to online teaching methods,and Indonesia is no exception.In Indonesia,the use of online teaching mode for the course of Chinese as a second language teaching has also become great challenges for students and teachers as well,and many unexpected problems emerged in the implementation of online teaching mode.In order to solve the problems encountered in the online teaching of elementary Chinese,this thesis has conducted a survey of the online teaching problems of the elementary Chinese listening and speaking classes for Indonesian students.This survey aims to propose solutions to these problems and improve the teaching quality of online teaching of listening and speaking classes.This thesis attempts to explore the problems existing in online teaching of the elementary Chinese listening and speaking class of West Kalimantan mandarin language course institute in Indonesia.In this study,the author conducted a survey of 54 students of 3 elementary classes and their 3 teachers,and collected statistics and analyzed them in order to more accurately understand the problems encountered by students and teachers in online classes.Based on the questionnaire survey,the author conducted follow-up interviews and classroom observations with 15 elementary students(5 students per class)and 3 teachers.The results show that there are certain problems in the online teaching of elementary Chinese listening and speaking courses.For students: the decline in student attendance,the weakening of the motivation and status of learning Chinese,and the inappropriate use of class equipment,which all affect the students’ learning productivity.On the teacher’s side,it is found that the online teaching method is relatively simple and lacks interest.And the major problems of online classroom are the teachers’ mal-management of the classroom.In light of the previous researches,and combined with my own online teaching experience,the author puts forward some corresponding countermeasures on this basis to provide reference for the online teaching of elementary Chinese listening and speaking classes and other online courses of West Kalimantan mandarin language course institute in Indonesia,including improving the teaching methods,strengthening the online class management,taking fully advantage of teaching resources,and promoting the teacher-student online and offline teaching interactions. |
