| The reporter was responsible for consecutive interpreting of one-on-one negotiation on the International(Nanjing)Cartoon-Animation Venture Capital Conference.And as a messenger,the reporter encountered internal obstacles and external obstacles in the interpreting process.Internal obstacles include insufficient knowledge of animation terminology,information forgotten of long paragraphs and misinterpretation of figures.External Obstacles include remote network interference,speaker’s colloquial expression and the difficulty for foreigners to understand Chinese cultural connotation.Therefore,this report takes the practical difficulties encountered in conference interpreting as the starting point,analyzes problems and puts forward corresponding solutions based on the interpretive theory and Gile’s effort model.For one thing,interpreters can summarize common animation terminology before the conference,improve processing ability for short-term memory tasks and use efficient figure note-taking strategies to balance the effort distribution.For another,interpreters can communicate with all parties in time,reorganize the core information,and explain the cultural background information to ensure efficient communication.This report is based on the real corpus of the reporter’s interpreting project,aiming to enrich the interpreting research in the animation field and provide guidance for future interpreters. |
