For international students to master and learn Chinese,the teaching of Chinese characters in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is an important part.Learning to write Chinese characters is the basis for learners to improve their reading and writing skills.In recent years,it has gradually deepened the study of Chinese character teaching in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,especially,in the study of Chinese character errors by foreign students.As the most basic component of Chinese characters,stroke is a big deal that foreign students should pay attention to at the beginning of their learning of Chinese characters.For improving teachers’ teaching ability and changing teaching strategies,it has great significance of the study of foreign students’ stroke errors.In order to improve teachers’ and students’ overall cognition of strokes,this paper selects 150 first-level Chinese characters in General Curriculum for International Chinese Teaching as the research objects,and analyzes the Chinese characters errors in the Sun Yat-sen University’s error annotation corpus.First of all,under the guidance of error analysis theory,this study uses accurate statistics to split 150 first-level Chinese characters stroke by stroke,and counts the total number of strokes,stroke types,basic strokes and compound strokes and types of each Chinese character.It is concluded that the total number of first-level Chinese character strokes is small,and the basic strokes dominate the total number of strokes;the basic strokes are diversified;the frequency of compound strokes is low,and the "cross-fold" stroke is dominant the total number of compound strokes;the frequency of using in basic strokes and compound strokes is different.Secondly,enter the error corpus and figure out 150 first-level Chinese characters in the error corpus of Sun Yat-sen University.Then sort out,classify and count the errors of Chinese characters.This study found that the error types of 150 Chinese characters mainly focus on stroke errors.Furthermore,a detailed analysis of the stroke error is carried out.The types of stroke errors are summarized into seven types: stroke increase,stroke reduction,stroke incompleteness,symbolization of strokes,stroke adhesion,stroke combination error and stroke misuse.Then,count the number of occurrences of each type of error,and analyze stroke errors with examples.Through sorting out and analyzing the stroke errors of the first-level Chinese characters,and combining the characteristics of the first-level Chinese character strokes,exploring the stroke biases of foreign students from the five aspects.The complexity of the strokes of the Chinese characters,negative transfer of the mother tongue,learners,teachers and the setting of the textbook.Among them,the complexity of the types of strokes of Chinese characters is the main reason for the errors.The similarity between strokes,the complexity of the combination of strokes,and the standardization of strokes are the important reasons for the errors of the foreign students’ strokes.Other reasons such as negative transfer of mother tongue are the secondary causes of bias.Finally,this research puts forward suggestions and teaching strategies for Chinese character strokes teaching from three aspects.Concluding Chinese character strokes,teacher teaching and textbook aspects.
