| Due to the outbreak of COVID-19,an overseas university finds its way into face-to-face online courses.The goal of the online courses is to meet the needs of the Chinese student’s learning requests.The course covers master’s degree and doctoral degree programs.Professors use the online conference platform software to teach specialized knowledge in English.Considering the different English proficiency levels of the Chinese students,this university therefore introduces interpretation to the courses.The purpose is to strengthen the students’ understanding of specialized knowledge and to improve teaching efficiency.This report is an in-depth study of writer’s remote consecutive interpretation of the university’s online course of DBA students.The thesis paper focuses on three parts : the advance preparation,case analysis,problems and solutions.The writer analyzes the problems and solutions based on Gile’s Effort Model.In addition,the writer summarizes the interpreting strategies employed,such as amplification,omission,and correction.Furthermore,corresponding practical measures are proposed.By summing up the interpretation experiences and courses learned from this interpreting practice,this writer puts forward some suggestions and ideas in the hope of shedding some lights for other learners of English interpreting. |
