| In recent years,with the continuous development of China-Egypt relations,more and more Egyptians are keen to learn Chinese.However,the non-target language environment has brought certain challenges to Egyptian students’ Chinese learning,especially in terms of communication skills.First and foremost.the imprecise teaching methodologies used in Chinese classes which basically rely on the principle of “more explaining,less practice”,so in most cases,students have less chances to speak! Secondly,Egyptian universities pay a really intense attention to three courses,including translation,Chinese history and literature,and grammar,but ignore listening and speaking courses.Thirdly,the materials used to teach Chinese speaking and listening are outdated and short of aim.Therefore,aimed at students who are on an advanced level in Egypt,this paper analyzes the application of Chinese TV dramas in Chinese teaching in Egypt through investigation as well as the teaching practice,and points out the feasibility and importance of applying TV dramas to Chinese class for Egyptian senior students,so as to achieve the goal of improving learners’ Chinese proficiency,especially the ability to communicate in Chinese.This essay is mainly divided into five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,including research purpose and significance,literature review,research methods,etc.The second chapter clarifies the interest and needs of Egyptian students in language learning through investigation and analysis,and then analyzes the feasibility of applying TV dramas to advanced Chinese teaching.Chapter 3 explains the reasons for using the TV series "Ode to Joy(Season One)" in Chinese teaching,briefly introduces the TV series,and analyzes the principles of selecting TV series segments.Chapter 4 selects the highlights from the TV series "Ode to Joy(Season One)" for teaching design.The fifth chapter analyzes the survey results of Egyptian students after participating in practical classes,and points out the shortcomings of using TV dramas in teaching. |
