Vocabulary is an essential material for language expression,and teaching or learning a language places a high priority on vocabulary.The amount of vocabulary learnt is one of the criteria for measuring students’ mastery of the language,so practice plays an important role as a link to test vocabulary learning.At present,there is a relatively rich accumulation of research results on offline vocabulary practice,but with the development of multimedia interactive technology and the outbreak of the new crown epidemic,online teaching is developing rapidly and its status in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is increasing,but the research on vocabulary practice is relatively lagging behind,which is not conducive to the benign development of online vocabulary teaching.This paper summarizes the current situation of online vocabulary practice,starting from the content of current online vocabulary practice,the strategies of practice,and the advantages and disadvantages of the practice.On this basis,through classroom observation of overseas Chinese children’s online vocabulary practice cases and interviews with teachers,the front-end analysis of the design of online vocabulary practice for overseas Chinese children is conducted,including the introduction of the teaching targets and teachers of the teaching materials.The objectives and principles of online elementary vocabulary practice are explained in relation to the characteristics of online vocabulary practice itself and the characteristics of Chinese children’s vocabulary learning.Then the methodology of the online vocabulary exercises is described and the exercises are designed and implemented.Finally,the design of the online vocabulary exercises is evaluated and reflected upon,and corresponding suggestions are made for the current online vocabulary exercises.Through the study,this paper concludes that the design of online elementary vocabulary exercises should take into full consideration the physiological and psychological characteristics of overseas Chinese children,enhance the interactivity and fun of the exercises,make the exercises varied and rich in variation;the arrangement of online vocabulary exercises should be gradual and hierarchical,reasonably arrange the skills training,and pay attention to the appropriate combination of context and culture with the exercises in the specific design.
