Application Of Interpretive Theory In Traditional Chinese Wedding Interpretation Practice

Since the implement of the reform and opening up,China has played an increasingly important role on the world stage,and its influences are more and more obvious.Translation,as the media,creates many connections between China and other countries.Those connections involve politics,economy,culture,and so on,which play a key role in enhancing the exchange and cooperation between people in different countries.The interpretation practice is based on the lines of a transnational wedding ceremony as the source text.Guided by the interpretive theory,the interpreter discusses its application in a traditional Chinese wedding.Through searching lots of data,the interpreter finds that there is little research on wedding interpretation.However,the interpreter has accumulated some experience in the field of wedding interpretation,so the topic is chosen for this practice report.In interpretation practice,the interpreter tries to deal with the encountered problems and doubts.The major difficulties in wedding interpretation practice are the interpretation of culture-loaded words,unique wedding idioms,long and difficult sentences.To deal with the difficulties,the interpreter follows the principles of the triangular model of the interpretive theory: understanding,breaking away from the language shell,and re-expression.Through analysing the features and content of the source text,proper strategies are applied.Paraphrasing and transmission of culture are used in the interpretation of culture-loaded words.Addition and simplifying the target language are used in the interpretation of unique wedding idioms.Transforming the sentence pattern is used in the interpretation of long and difficult sentences.Through case analysis,the interpreter hopes to provide guidance and reference for consecutive interpreters,and helps them to complete their interpretation tasks and improve the quality of their interpretations.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 34...
