The ‘inverted pyramid’ family structure is prevalent in Chinese society.Under this circumstance,the companionship needs of all age groups need certain attention and support.Using companionship robots to meet the companionship requirements of modern Chinese families and improve the quality of family life has become a feasible measure.Researches on companion robots at the user level are mainly focused on the user group of a single age group.Few researchers concentrate on product design for the broad age group of family users.Appearance design of intelligent service robot mainly focus on sensibility engineering and emotional design,which is always lack of specific design process and practice of design concept.Researches on the function mainly focuses on the interaction design.The grasp of the overall function framework is weak,Meanwhile,design theory with the program practice,and the appearance design with the function framework is not satisfying.Based on the perspective of cognitive psychology and investigation,this paper studies the relevant contents of the appearance and function design of companion robot products.Then,a practical design scheme is proposed.In the basic theoretical part,this paper introduces the general situation of companion robot and related theories of product design in cognitive psychology.In the beginning,the definition,classification,constitution and product development process of companion robot are summarized.Then the meaning and development of cognitive psychology are narrated.In the end,by combining the theory of information processing in cognitive psychology with the product,the influence of product color,shape and design compatibility on user information processing is discussed.In the user research part,this paper takes the user survey of companion robots as the starting point.The needs of the main user groups of companion robots are analyzed and the common characteristics of user needs of companion robots are summarized,besides,the service objects of single products of companion robots is expanded.Then,from the perspective of users,the usage scenarios of the target users are set and the journey is drawn based on the user interview.At last,the paper summarizes the appearance and function design requirements of the chaperone robot product design practice through the analysis of user demand,which lays the foundation for user research for the project design practice.Based on user research and product market research,the appearance and function of companion robot are designed in the product design research part.The main order of this part is as follows.First of all,summarizes the characteristics of the existing products of companion robot.Secondly,Build the functional framework of the product with FAST functional analysis system technique.In the next place,analyzes the appearance design of companion robot.Finally,present the design principles of security,ease of use and interactivity.In the part of practice of scheme design,this paper introduces the design process and evaluation method of practice scheme of companion robot.With preliminary product design research and user research,the program practice flow is developed.The main content of appearance design part includes modeling imagery,prototypes drawing,color and material choices,dimensions and features definition.Based on the works above,Solidworks and Keyshot will be used to build models.A 3-D printer is used to make appearance prototype.Eventually,the design evaluation of the companion robot is obtained through the investigation of the user’s subjective evaluation of the appearance prototype. |
