| With the development of cultural diversity,the introduction of outstanding foreign books has become an inevitable trend for cultural exchanges in various countries.Playing a vital role in increasing children’s knowledge and improving their literacy,foreign high-quality children’s literature has been introduced into Chinese book markets to meet readers’ increasingly diversified reading needs.Due to the differences in languages and cultures,cultural exchanges between China and the West are hindered to a certain extent,and translation is particularly important at this time.The translator was commissioned by a translation company to translate Gulliver’s Travels to promote high-quality foreign children’s literature.The original text has a total of 16025 words and the translation has a total of 25255 words.This translation practice report attempts to analyze representative words and sentences under the guidance of Reception Aesthetic Theory to discuss translation strategies and methods in the translation practice,aiming at exploring the connotation of translation.The report is divided into four parts: translation task description,translation process description,cases analysis and summary.Through this translation practice,the translator has a better understanding of the guiding role of Reception Aesthetic Theory in the translation of children’s literature,and the understanding of translation skills and strategies has been further deepened.The report makes the translator be clear about the deficiencies in her translation,which is instructive for the translator’s further translation practice in the future. |
