The Addendum And Research Of Yang Zengxin’s Collected Works

Yang Zengxin wrote a book called the Bu Guozhai Papers,is divided into the first,the second,the third and the fourth,with a total of 2513 papers and nearly two million words.This is a rare historical document for the study about the history of the Xinjiang during the period of the Republic of China.However,due to the compilation style and the subjective will of the compilers,a large number of Yang Zengxin’s documents have not been included;Moreover,the included telegrams are only above but not below,which often results in the knowledge of the facts but not the reason for them.At the same time,the collection of Yang Zengxin’s anthology has not been systematically sorted out and studied.Based on this,this thesis focuses on Yang Zengxin’s documents in archives,newspapers,published archives,and local history and adopts the bibliographic method of editing,proofreading,correcting,and proofreading,transcribing,classifying,proofreading,and comparing,removing duplicates and preserving rarities.Through the study,the types,the life of the compiler and the five major deficiencies of the Bu Guozhai Papers and the reasons for its completion are put forward;Yang Zengxin rare documents,poems,letters more than 1200(about one-third of the Bu Guozhai Papers),a wide range of types are collated,which are mainly concentrated in the four aspects of officialdom,such as provincial councils,culture,taxation,etc and greatly supplemented the shortcomings of the original documents.the supplemental documents concludes five main features such as less before and after,more in the middle of the period;a considerable number of official documents,with a wide range of types;more presenting documents,less ordering documents;more orders and correspondence,strong continuity;more internal affairs,less foreign affairs.Its important historical value is mainly manifested in the two major aspects of the filling-in of the Replenishment of the overzai documents and the filling-in the biographical records of the grassroots officials in Xinjiang during the Republican period.Finally,by cross-checking the original files and the Bu Guozhai Papersfor,more than a statement of the word of the error of inversion and the meaning of the original are corrected,hopes for the benefit of later researchers.
