A Deeper Study On Four Problems Mentioned In Book DingELeiBian And Addendum

In this paper,we choose four items on linguistics which are worthy a deeper study in the book DingELeiBian and Addendum(《订讹类编续补》),we mainly involve logography and lexicology,including study on re-writing marks by Hang shijun,the shape and comprehension of the sentence"great vessels"("大器") in Book Laozi(《老子》),the sourc of the word"antique"("骨董"), the structure of the word"shake one's sides"("绝�'").The study on re-writing marks is considered as a question of punctuation mark in the present age,but it was taken as a question of Chinese characters in history.The item of"ChongZiBuKeZuo二"("重字不可作二") in DingELeiBian and Addendum is rich in content,but there are many mistakes in it.In this paper,we First recover the original shape of the item,then,we study the item from the aspects of re-writing marks'shape,location,etc.At the same time,we correct some wrong ideas of modern learners who used this item.On the shape and meaning of the sentence"Great vessels take years to produce."("大器晚成") in Book Laozi,following the appearance of underground document,it becomes a hot topic for learners.They study it in the aspects of context, sentential form,version,but regardless of the aspect of logography. Through the aspect of logography,we can confirm that"Great vessels take years to produce."is not the original shape in Laozi.Among the several versions,we think that"Great vessels can not be produced ."("大器曼成")is an earlier shape in Laozi.The meaning of"Man"("曼") is"Not have"("无"),used as a verb.There are two words written in same Chinese characters,one occurs in Tang dynasty,the other occurs in Song dynasty,which is the meaning of"antique"("骨董"). After a research of the age and the language environment it occurred,we think the word"antique"occurred in Song dynasty,it maybe originated from spoken language,it was closely related to the culture environment of Song dynasty.As an important word,some important topics in the word"shake one's sides"is ignored.We think the word"shake one's sides"become a word in Weijin era,it's one kind of acrobatics,its structure is attribute- qualifiedword type.
