Chinese characters are the carrier to record the Chinese language.As an ideographic system,Chinese characters have always been a major difficulty in the teaching of Chinese as a second language.Due to the characteristics of large number,complex structure and large amount of information,many second language learners are discouraged from learning Chinese characters.Chinese characters are an important part of Chinese learning that can not be ignored.Only by learning Chinese characters well can we improve the overall level of Chinese learning.Although Chinese characters are difficult to recognize,write and remember,every language has certain rules.If Chinese characters are classified according to the rules of the radical classification in Shuo Wen Jie Zi,and Chinese characters are systematically explained to Chinese learners with radicals as units,the difficulty of learning Chinese characters will be greatly reduced.Shuo Wen Jie Zi consists of 540 radicals and receives 9353 characters in total.As one of the radicals with more characters,characters of the radical Nv receive 258 characters in total,which show that radical Nv occupie a large proportion in Chinese characters.And "Nv" can be a radical and can be a separate character,with a certain typicality.Therefore,this paper takes radical Nv as an example to discuss the teaching of Chinese characters’ radicals.This paper firstly discusses the distribution of radical Nv in HSK and Chinese Character Grades,analyzes the shape evolution,structural characteristics and structural analysis of radical Nv,and classifies the meaning of radical Nv.The article also analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching strategies of Chinese characters for second language learners,and finally carries out the primary teaching under the guidance of the principles of systematicness,practicability,scientificity and culture.The article chooses the typical and practical radical Nv characters,which represents the appellations of kinship,and carries out a teaching design for it.In this paper,characters of the radical Nv are taken as an example to teach Chinese radicals for second language learners,hoping that through systematic teaching of radicals,second language learners can master the relationship between a radical and its related characters,so that they can master more Chinese characters.
