The thesis compares "Shuowen Jiezi" with the syllabus of "Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level Syllabus" and the textbook of "Developing Chinese",and compares the most commonly used " 言 " characters and their error types for junior high school learners.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which firstly introduces the reason for choosing the topic of this paper,then summarizes the application of "Shuowen Jiezi" in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the current situation of the research on the teaching of "言" characters,and finally introduces the main research methods and sources of this paper.The second chapter is to organize the distribution of "言" characters,and to find the commonalities among the "言" characters in the textbooks of "Shuowen Jiezi","Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level Syllabus" and "Developing Chinese".The third chapter is "Shuowen Jiezi",which is an introduction to the Chinese language.Chapter 3 analyzes the meanings of the "言" characters in the "Shuowen Jiezi",combining the 41 characters summarized above with their original meanings from the perspective of the "Shuowen Jiezi".The 41 words are divided into three categories:conversation,attitude,and action,and are subdivided within the category of "speech" to help students understand them.The fourth chapter analyzes the usage and errors of commonly used words in the HSK dynamic composition corpus,selects words with a high error rate,and compares and analyzes typical error examples to explore the main types of errors and solutions.Chapter 5 proposes suggestions for improving the teaching of "言" characters at junior high school level based on the analysis of the previous data,and gives examples of teaching designs.It is suggested that the phonological and semantic rationales of the words that are prone to errors should be discovered with the help of "Shuowen Jiezi",and students should be guided to understand and master the rules of Chinese character construction from the rationale.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole text and points out some problems.
