| The unexpected pandemic dramatically changed the way people live,work,and study.Due to the containment measures,people’s activities are highly restricted,but it,in turn,accelerates the penetration of online courses,as people’s thirst for knowledge has not abated.Under this context,the author started the dubbing interpretation internship in Goyor Network Technology,where she was required to interpret and dub for online art design lectures.This report is based on the author’s interpreting practice,which records her Chinese to English consecutive interpreting and dubbing(hereafter called dubbing interpretation)for an entire course,Fantasy Concept Design,produced by Zhang Yu,a popular game character designer.The lecturer gives impromptu explanations when demonstrating the designing process,so the structure of his speech may be messy sometimes.Therefore,to ensure the audience can have a nice viewing experience,the interpreted version should be concise and complete.During the internship,the author notices that overcoming the difficulties of information processing is the key to improving the interpreting quality and conveying the speaker’s message effectively.Based on the dubbing interpretation experience,the author sorts out the difficulties of information processing,which are chiefly reflected in information redundancy,information insufficiency,and mixed construction.This report aims to find the corresponding solutions to cope with the difficulties above under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory.Through an in-depth analysis of the interpreting recordings and notes,the strategies used will be integrated and some interpretations should be fine-tuned.Hopefully,this report can provide references for related studies and interpreters in terms of information processing. |
