| In recent years,an increasing number of foreign university students have come to China.In order to ensure successful communication,interpreters play an indispensable role.This thesis mainly describes a lecture interpretation in Seminars on Information Technology in Basic Education for BRI Countries,hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and undertaken by East China Normal University.The audience of this lecture had limited English ability and were unfamiliar with Chinese national conditions.Hence,the author needs to understand the speaker’s intention,collect information without being confined to the structure of source language and express it in line with target language.The author summarizes research on Interpretative Theory at home and abroad,analysing the interpretation practice guided by the theory.The research methods include case study and text analysis.Sentences are selected to analyse the effect of deverbalization.The author discusses the characteristics of distant lecture interpreting in the field of education in colleges and universities and explores strategies from the perspective of Interpretative Theory.Six methods,namely,choosing proper words under context,adding cohesive device,illustration,reordering,reduction of redundancy and rephrasing in line with target language are adopted to analyse the strategies used in this interpretation practice.This thesis enriches the scenario of Interpretative Theory application and suggests the choice of strategies from the perspective of Interpretative Theory.By describing a real interpretation setting,the thesis provides reference for interpreters in practice of lecture interpretation.By emphasizing on information collection and audience analysis,interpreters will be better prepared which can serve as a guidance for future teaching. |
