Factors Influencing Comprehension In Interpretation And Coping Strategies

Accurate and efficient comprehension is a prerequisite for meaning conveyance,a guarantee for interpretive quality as well as the crucial point of continuous improvement of interpretive skills.Based on theories of the triangular model of interpreting from the Paris School and modern cognitive psychological interpreting study results,this thesis firstly explores comprehension process in interpretation.The author then presents difficulties during comprehension of source language through case analysis of interpreting practices.Finally,with detailed case study,the author puts forward four strategies including topic-related preparation,preparation for terms,cognitive supplement and textual information integration in order to efficiently improve interpreter’s comprehension.
