Learning habit is an automatic behavior that meets one’s own needs formed through continuous practice in the learning process.The seventh grade is the transition between the primary school and junior middle school,and it is also a critical period for students to develop good English learning habits.During the period of teaching in Minsheng Town Middle School,the author found that some seventh-grade students had various bad learning habits,which caused their English learning worse and worse and eventually became students with learning difficulties.It is the teacher’s duty to convert students with learning difficulties Therefore,this article mainly studies the impact of English learning habits on the English learning of rural seventh-grade students with learning difficulties.This article has three research questions:1.Through questionnaire surveys,classroom observations and interviews,find out what are the factors that affect English students in seventh-grade of Minsheng Middle School to become students with learning difficulties?2.What are the English learning habits of the seventh grade students in Minsheng Middle School? What is the difference in English learning habits between students with poor English learning and students with better English scores in our school ?3.According to the characteristics of students with learning difficulties in Minsheng Town Middle School,what measures and methods can be proposed to cultivate their good English learning habits?In response to the first two research questions,the author conducted a questionnaire survey among 93 students in two groups in the seventh-grade of Minsheng Town Middle School.The purposes are to grasp the causes of the current academic difficulties and the students’ attitudes towards English learning.To find out the differences in learning habits of students with different English learning levels and learning abilities.In response to the third question,the author will use the questionnaire data combined with classroom observation data to summarize the causes of English learning difficulties in Minsheng Town Middle School,then propose measures and methods to cultivate good English learning habits and improve English scores for the seventh-grade students in Minsheng Town Middle School.According to the results of the questionnaire survey of students with learning difficulties,the author knows that the formation of students with English learning difficulties in the seventh-grade of Minsheng Middle School are closely connected with their learning interests and learning habits.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews with parents,the author found that:1.Rural students with poor English learning in the seventh grade lack basic English learning habits,have a relatively simple understanding of habits,and have almost no selfdirected learning habits.2.Different behaviors of students,family learning atmosphere,comprehensive quality of teachers,social environment,etc.are all factors that affect the good English performance of rural seventh grade students.3.English learning performance and English learning habits are closely related and affect each other.In response to the above conclusions,the author gives three training measures: 1.To enhance the understanding of the learning habits of the students with learning difficulties;2.To cultivate the basic English learning habits of the students with learning difficulties;3.To train the students with English learning difficulties to be self-directed English learning habits.At the same time,some training methods also be proposed: 1.Selfrecording and self-listening of listening;2.Be a loyal listener of students;3.Connect with reality to "learn by doing";4.Adhere to the "three writing method"(summary,imitating writing and rewrite);5.Model demonstration method;6.Family-school mutual assistance method;7.After class English learning mutual aid groups and other methods.. |
