With the development of modern educational technology and the renewal of educational concepts,many people are using the mind map,a new type of memory aid tool,to help them understand or remember effectively.It can not only structure knowledge,but also develop human memory strategies.However,combined with the current status of unit review lessons,it can be seen that teachers’ inadequate preparation for unit review lessons and students’ inadequate attention to review lessons have caused the current review lessons to be ineffective.Therefore,how to combine the mind map review method with the junior high school English unit review teaching to develop teaching practice to improve review strategies and achieve effective review is a problem that many teachers are concerned about and urgently need to study.This research is based on knowledge visualization and constructivism,and mainly adopts questionnaire survey method,testing method,interview method and classroom observation method for comprehensive analysis.This research puts forward a teaching mode of mind map review method.In the process of drawing,students’ behaviors corresponding to teachers’ behaviors are designed to start teaching practice.54 students in each of the two classes in the eighth grade of an experimental school in Yubei District,Chongqing are selected as the teaching and research objects,and the experimental class students are assigned to use the mind map review method to complete the review task every two weeks.After all the review tasks are completed,questionnaires are issued to students to further understand the cognition and current situation of the mind map review method;coupled with the analysis of the results of the post-test unit basic test papers,individual interviews with the students and teachers Class observations,supplemented with data.In more than three months of teaching experiments,through the aid of the mind map,the final research experiment shows that students draw and construct by hand in the classroom to feel the joy of the drawing process,which not only increases the interest in review,but also improves it has a systematic integration ability and improved review strategies;it also provides an effective review teaching method for junior high school English teachers.The mind map review method can effectively help students improve the unit test scores,so as to improve the teaching effect of teachers’ review classes.To a certain extent,this experiment basically achieved the expected results,and it also provided more effective suggestions for improving the current situation of review classes.However,due to the influence of differences in the subjectivity of students,the adaptation of teachers to teaching methods,and the adaptation between teachers and students,this study has some certain limitations.After analyzing the above limitations,this research believes that the following points should be paid attention to when implementing the mind map review method:(1)To expand students’ thinking and set up layered exercises.(2)To improve the teacher’s ability to design mind maps.(3)To change the cognition of traditional mind maps and establish new concepts of review.(4)To make full use of teaching wit and use mind maps to promote review.As a teacher,in the implementation process,we should take into account the effects of student drawing and classroom review,and use educational mechanisms to effectively combine the mind map and review teaching.Therefore,we should continue to think and explore in the future educational practice.
