Anaphora,as an important means of discourse cohesion,is a very common but complex language form in the Chinese writing of international students.Chinese writing in advance level examines not only the use of grammar and vocabulary,but also the expression of discourse cohesion.Abbreviation is the summary and paraphrase of the existing articles.So it ia more easier to involve the use of anaphora in the conversion of content.International students are more prone to make errors in abbreviation,and this is more likely to ignore in the teaching of HSK6 abbreviation.Therefore,it’s necessary to study the phenomenon of advanced students.Based on a comprehensive consideration of the development trend of Chinese teaching,the status of international students in the International Academy of Southwest University and the content of HSK6,This study has collected the abbreviation corpus of HSK6 for advanced international students from Africa,Thailand,Vietnam and other countries.And it involves 10 narrative themes,231 pieces in total.Through the research methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis,classify these anaphora phenomena of abbreviation corpus firstly,and then deal the distribution of various anaphora phenomena and errors with the methods of data analysis to explore the reasons and regularity of the anaphora errors,and obtain some teaching suggestion,provide some references for related discourse teaching.There are seven chapters in this paper.The first chapter introduces the reason of the topic selection,research content and methods.And Summarize the previous research of predecessors.Then it follows the theoretical part,which elaborates the relevant terms’ explanation,the anaphora theory from the definition of anaphora,the accessibility theory,and the basic principles followed by anaphora,as well as the theory of error analysis and interlanguage,which serve as the theoretical basis of this study.In according to the guidance of the anaphora theory,the third chapter clarifies the classification of anaphora in the abbreviated corpus of international students,and divides it into two categories according to the form of antecedent: the antecedent as word or phrase and the antecedent as sentence.According to the form of anaphora,it is divided into three types of anaphora: noun anaphora,pronoun anaphora and zero anaphora.And the summarization anaphora belong to the large category of the antecedent as sentence.In addition,the chart is used to sort out the distribution of the overall use of each anaphora,in which zero anaphora and pronoun anaphora are the most used anaphora.In the fourth chapter,I collate and analyze the data of the distribution of the correct use of each anaphora form,and find that pronoun anaphora and noun anaphora have the lowest correct rate,especially pronoun anaphora.After analyzing the reasons why foreign students can make anaphora correctly with some examples,it is concluded that the main factors are the characteristics of self-absorption,the positive transfer of mother tongue,and the full acquisition of the rules of target language.The fifth chapter classifies and analyzes the anaphora errors in abbreviated corpus,and concludes that there are mainly anaphora excessive,anaphora ambiguity,anaphora improper and so on.Then it analyzes the distribution of the errors and discusses the causes of the errors,including the characteristics of anaphora itself,the overgeneralization of the target language rules,and the negative transfer of the first language.Finally,through a series of studies of HSK6 abbreviation corpus,the corresponding enlightenment is put forward to the teaching materials,teachers and students.Through the above research and analysis of HSK6 abbreviation corpus,it can be found that the use of anaphora of advanced international students’ abbreviation varies greatly in overall distribution,and the occurrence of errors also has certain rules.It is obvious that the acquisition of relevant target language rules by international students is deficient.This also suggests that in the teaching and practice of HSK6 abbreviation,we should not only pay attention to grammar and vocabulary,but also focus on the cohesion and coherence of discourse,so as to improve the writing ability of international students. |
