Study On The Painting Techniques Of Shen Zhou’s "Sleeping Tour Atlas"

Shen Zhou is one of the most representative landscape painters in the Ming Dynasty.He has made a great breakthrough in painting techniques.He observes the nature,inherits the techniques of Chinese painting,and promotes painting from techniques to the height of "thinking"."Sleeping tour atlas" is a group of album works of Shen Zhou’s "rough Shen" period,in which landscape painting mostly adopts the painting method of thick brush and broad ink.In learning Shen Zhou’s brushwork,he will be influenced by his painting style.His brushwork is simple,clear and powerful.He uses the line quality of calligraphy to make landscapes.Most of his brushwork is bald and short.His brushwork is clear and full of changes.He uses both center and side fronts.The brush mark is clear and visible,and the ink color is rich.After Goucun,there is little halo and dye.The light ink is used to see the brush,which makes the whole picture harmonious and unified.Through the analysis and study of Shen Zhou’s painting techniques,we can have a dialogue with the ancients and ourselves,and actively explore the influence of tradition on ourselves from our own sketching and creative practice.It studies Shen Zhou’s landscape painting creation concept,constituent elements,brush and ink language,picture processing and other aspects,and probes into the process and ideological roots of his own research and analysis of Shen Zhou’s "sleeping tour atlas" painting techniques.
