| In recent decades,communications technology has developed from the first generation to the fifth generation.The new generation of communications technology is closely related to people’s lives and has become a topic of high concern nowadays.This translation practice material is selected from 5G explained security and deployment of advanced mobile communications,the translator chooses the third chapter of the book for translation,which introduces several generations of communications technologies and the definition,standard,position and security of 5G.By analyzing the source text,the translator adopts Vermeer’s Skopos theory as the guiding theory for this translation practice.Based on the characteristics of the source text,the translator analyzes some typical examples to discuss the translation of scientific texts from three aspects: lexical,syntax and discourse.At the lexical level,the source text has a large number of terminologies and abbreviations in the communication field.The translator adopts the literal translation method for the terminologies,and adopts the annotation method for the abbreviations.At the syntactic level,the source text has a large number of passive sentences and compound sentences.The translator adopts passive conversions for passive sentences,and adopts recasting and splitting for long and complex sentences to ensure that the translation is more in line with the expression habits of the target language.At the discourse level,the translator analyzes the cohesive skills conjunction and anaphor to ensure that the logical relationship of the text is close,which aims to achieve the communicative purpose of the translation.The translator hopes to improve the translator’s own translation ability and relevant knowledge reserve through this translation practice,and also provides a certain reference for the translation of relevant texts in this field in the future. |
