In character documentaries,in recent years,more and more creators have shifted their perspectives to ordinary characters,and express the themes of the documentary by recording the real lives of ordinary people.This type of documentary takes ordinary characters as the main subject,so exploring how to make the image of ordinary characters rich and full,so as to better express the theme,has become a focus of research.The author has read a lot of relevant documents,combined with the graduation work "The Beekeeper",and explored and analyzed the problem of character image creation in documentary films about ordinary characters.The first chapter combs the research status,significance,content and methods of this topic.The second chapter explains the concept of character image modeling in documentary films about ordinary characters,including people-oriented,attention to ordinary people’s lives,a civilian perspective,and the collision of reality and art.The third chapter discusses the strategy of character image shaping in documentary films about common characters,including shaping character images in a specific time and space environment,establishing character images in contradictions and conflicts,and portraying character images through details.The fourth chapter analyzes how to use the language of sound and picture to shape the image of the characters in the documentary of ordinary characters.Finally,in the conclusion,the research results of this article are summarized and the shortcomings are pointed out.
