For a hundred years,character documentaries have taken the responsibility of paying attention to the real life state of human beings.The real and vivid characters in the works will make the works bloom and make the audience resonate strongly.Therefore,creating a true three-dimensional,full and vivid character image is a problem that all character documentary creators need to face and solve.The article will be rooted in the relevant theories of character documentary in character image shaping.Through the case of character documentary works and its own practice of character documentary creation,it analyzes how to shape the image of characters in character documentary.The article is divided into parts.The first part is the introduction,including the research background and significance,research status,research methods and related concepts and theoretical basis;the second part will discuss the role of topic selection and shooting of character documentaries in shaping character images in character documentaries through four aspects : topic selection criteria,narrative strategies,recording principles and editing skills.The third part will take the graduation work as an example to analyze the audio-visual skills of character shaping from the arrangement of narrative strategies and the use of audio-visual language.The fourth part is the conclusion.The author will summarize and reflect on the research of character image shaping in character documentaries.
