Since the public attention shifted on MOOC and flipped classroom,a new form of teaching resources and teaching model has come into being, and aroused a strong response from the educational circles at home and abroad.MOOC is mainly the use of the network platform to show the teaching content in the form of micro-lesson,while flipped classroom is a unique innovative and individualized teaching model. The MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching model is the use of network technology and resources to flip the teaching goal and teaching form, teaching subject and teachers, and to create a new situation of teaching and learning. On the basis of a full study on the current situation and related theories of the application of the flipped classroom and MOOC,this paper constructs the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching model, and applies it to the course International Trade Practice English. The author carries on the teaching experiment to explore the effectiveness of flipped classroom teaching model in English teaching.Through this experiment, the author intends to answer the following three questions:1.What is the effect of the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching on the course International Trade practice English?2.What is the change of students’ autonomous learning ability in the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching?3.How do students and the teacher evaluate the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching? What are the problems in implementation? This study adopts empirical research, combining quantitative and qualitative research, and uses questionnaires,interviews,pre-test and post-test to carry out the experiment.First of all,the author widely reads the relevant literature at home and abroad, and makes the comments on the research situation of flipped classroom and MOOC at home and abroad.Secondly, the author explains the theories of humanism, constructivism and activity learning which the flipped classroom depends on.Then,61 students of two classes in L College are chosen as the research objects in this experiment.English Class 17-2 is the experiment class(EC)in which flipped classroom model is used in teaching and learning.English Class 17-4 is the control class(CC)in which the traditional teaching model is applied. The teaching experiment lasts for 16 weeks from March 9th,2020 to June 24 th,2020.Before and after the implementation of the flipped classroom, the author analyzes the test results of the experiment class and the control class, and discusses whether the flipped classroom teaching can improve the students’ grades by comparing test results. In addition, the author conducts a questionnaire survey on the two classes to compare the changes of learners’ autonomous learning ability and learning attitude before and after the experiment. Finally, after the implementation of flipped classroom, the author interviews some students and the teacher for their feedbacks. After the experiment, the author analyzes the collected data and effectively confirms the hypothesis in the early stage of practice. The experiment proves that :(1)the application of the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching model improves students’ academic performance.(2)The implementation of the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching model is conducive to the improving the students autonomous learning and cooperative inquiry ability.(3)The teacher and students have a positive attitude towards the implementation of the MOOC-based flipped classroom teaching model. Finally, according to the research, the author summarizes the major findings, the shortcomings and suggestions for the follow-up research with a hope to provide some reference for the future application.
