| Recently, the ancient village culture has gradually become a hot topic in the creation of historical and cultural documentaries.Starting with small details, these documentaries not only display the splendid and long Chinese history and culture but also spread the unique regional culture by using sophisticated narrative structures, multiple narrative perspectives,as well as story-telling narrative skills.Taking the graduation work Jinshi village deep in the mountains as an example, this paper discusses the landscape construction and narrative strategy of the ancient village farming-reading culture in the documentary. The first part of the paper focuses on the spatial and cultural landscape of the documentary on ancient village farming-reading culture. The presentation of spatial landscape lies in the presentation of a complete cultural spatial form by selecting iconic geographical visual elements. And the construction of cultural landscape depends on the appearance of traditional culture in the new era and social context from the perspective of modernity. The second part explores the narrative strategy of “story-telling” in the documentary on ancient village farming-reading culture. In general, the main difficulty in the narrative of such documentaries is the absence of history. Therefore,it is necessary to restore the original appearance of history by the way of oral history, and construct the history from the perspective of modernity by means of “story-telling”,so as to realize the presence of the history. The representative and typical characters should be chosen as narrative clues to highlight the inheritance of history and culture by observing the stories of characters. In addition, the creator should expand the narrative perspective and meanwhile make necessary transfer of discourse space. |
